The 20-year-old off-spinner for England, Shoaib Bashir, had to take a plane home when his Indian visa was denied earlier this week. Although Bashir was in the squad in Abu Dhabi, his visa had not yet been approved, so he was unable to travel to India. Regretfully, Bashir, who comes from a Pakistani family, will now miss the series' opening Test against India, which kicks off on January 25. In response to Bashir's progress, England captain Ben Stokes expressed his obvious frustration, calling it "devastating" to not have the young off-spinner with the team.
