January 21st Update: Today, the Hawks announced on their official social media that guard Trae Young has entered the concussion protocol.
"Trae Young left the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night with 8 minutes and 43 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter after committing a foul. Following evaluations by the team's athletic training and medical staff, Young has been diagnosed with a concussion."
According to the league's concussion policy, Young will undergo the NBA-mandated "Return-to-Play" protocol. This process involves a series of steps aimed at ensuring the player exhibits symptom-free behavior before returning to basketball activities. There is no predetermined timeline for completing this process. Each injury and player is unique, and the recovery time may vary in each case. |
