Shortly after Shoaib Malik, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, announced his second marriage to actress Sana Javed, a relative of Malik's first wife, the former tennis player from India, Sania Mirza, claimed that the tennis star had unilaterally divorced her husband. According to a family source who spoke to PTI, "it was a 'khula,'" which alludes to a Muslim woman's unreserved right to divorce her husband. It's interesting to note that Sania's father, Imran Mirza, was quoted in the original PTI report using the same quotation.
