After 14 years, Mark Hardinges is leaving his position as Malvern College's master of cricket to concentrate on teaching economics at the institution. However, he can point to a new generation of Old Malvernians who are currently making a big impression on county cricket. Malvern is the only school to have produced two Wisden Schools Cricketers of the Year, in Tom Kohler-Cadmore (2013) and Oli Cox (2022). After ten years at Gloucestershire, Hardinges, now forty-five, decided to retire from county cricket in 2009 and joined the staff at Malvern, where he attended school. "We've had a steady flow of boys going on to become professional cricketers over the last 10 to 12 years," the former all-rounder remarked.
