Nonetheless, Daryl Mitchell and his captain, Kane Williamson, who combined for 181 runs and scored 69 runs, played a valiant and brilliant century to spearhead New Zealand's comeback. However, India, riding high on a massive total, opened the gates for New Zealand to bat by getting rid of Glenn Phillips, and Mitchell's removal in the 46th over all but sealed the victory.
