The Ranji Trophy campaign for Delhi in 2023–24 got off to the worst possible start. It was Pondicherry's only victory in the Ranji Trophy elite group, as they thrashed Delhi by nine wickets. On a chilly Day 4, Pondicherry's victory was a formality as Gourav Yadav and Abin Matthew dismissed Delhi's overnight batsmen, Harsh Tyagi and Ishant Sharma, early in their second innings, as they folded for 145 runs. Pondicherry took 13.1 overs to chase down the total with nine wickets remaining, needing just 50 runs to win.
