Theoretically, does gambling involve winning money first and then losing it?

According to the casino's perspective, the idea is: they are not afraid if you win money, they are afraid if you don't come back.

So theoretically, gambling should involve winning money first, then developing an addiction, and eventually reaching the stage of losing money. If you are in the winning phase, it would be wise to quit while ahead and leave once you've won, wouldn't it?

I've been playing for so long, and I've hardly won any money. This doesn't follow the expected pattern. In theory, shouldn't I suddenly become rich and lose control of myself?

There's no pattern, it's purely a matter of luck.

You haven't truly gambled, so your chance has not arrived yet.
