My friend called again, and the message was, "Can you lend me some money? I'm a bit tight on cash lately." This has been the most frequent request I've heard these days. Now, every time the phone rings, I don't know whether I should answer.

He has been asking to borrow money from me continuously. What do you think, should I lend it to him or not? If I don't lend it to him, what if something happens, and he gets into debt trouble? I would definitely feel guilty, and each time I think about it, I would blame myself.

If only I had lent him money earlier, maybe he wouldn't be in such a situation now. But if I do lend him money, he might use it for something irresponsible, and there's no reason why so many friends around us have lent him money, yet his debts keep piling up.

I don't dare to ask, afraid that he might say I'm not a good friend, doubting our friendship. I lit a cigarette, and now I'm hesitating.

What do you think, should I lend him the money or not? Every time I think about what he said, "Consider our many years of friendship, help me out, you don't want to see me die, do you?" This line feels like emotional blackmail.

It's like what parents often say, "I'm doing this for your own good." It's the same kind of manipulation playing on emotions and thoughts.

Clearly, I'm being influenced, and God knows how frustrated I am.

If borrowing money is for playing games, it's still necessary to refuse.

Just consider your own ability. If you really don't want to lend, just make it clear and don't lend.

It's okay to lend a bit; after all, everyone has difficult times.

Anyway, I feel that under normal circumstances, I wouldn't lend.
