"Recently, I've been watching a friend buying stocks, claiming it's for investment, but it seems more like gambling! He heard about this stock from somewhere, and the person who shared it with him advised not to sell unless it reaches a specific price, ensuring a substantial profit.
This old friend of mine came to me before, urging me to buy as well, but I hesitated and refused. Later, he mentioned hearing some unfavorable rumors about the stock and asked for my opinion on whether to sell. However, it hadn't reached the so-called 'value' his 'mentor' told him yet. I advised him to sell if there's a profit, play it safe. Unfortunately, he didn't take my advice. He was afraid that if he sold at that price and the stock surged afterward, he would miss out on potential earnings. Seeing his greedy demeanor, I couldn't help but think that gamblers aren't limited to the gambling world.
This so-called 'investment' that is essentially gambling is even more unsightly! In the end, the stock didn't reach his estimated price, and it plummeted, becoming worthless. My friend is now in despair, regretting not listening to me and selling the stock earlier. Now, he has almost nothing left from his hard-earned savings, and he has to start over. It's almost unbearable for him. Reflecting on his greed at that time, I woke up and wondered if I might fall into the same trap when gambling. This incident with my friend has been lingering in my mind these past few days, serving as a wake-up call.
