On November 19, former Warriors general manager Bob Myers recently participated in a podcast interview, recalling the process of recruiting free agent Kevin Durant after the Warriors lost in the 2016 NBA Finals.

"I remember when we lost the seventh game in Oakland in the 2016 NBA Finals, the next morning we had a wrap-up meeting. So, I sat at my desk, and each player came in separately. I think we lost the game the night before at 8 o'clock. So now it's been 12-14 hours since the loss in Game 7 of the NBA Finals at home, which might be the most painful or closest to the peak of pain you can reach.

"I remember Curry walked in, and I looked at him, and we discussed that season and the team... Finally, I said, 'Hey, what if Durant wants to come? What are your thoughts if Durant is willing to meet with us?' I was observing his body language. Because there are ways to say 'yes' and 'no.' He could have looked at the floor and said, 'Yes, I mean, whatever you want, I'll do.' That's a negative, right? The answer is negative. That means 'I don't want this.' He could have directly said, 'No way, this is my team, we just lost, and I don't want anyone to come here and share the spotlight.'

"But the beauty of Curry is that he looked into my eyes and said, 'Do you think he would want to come here?' I said, 'I don't know, but if he participates in the meeting, if that is possible, how do we feel about it?' He looked into my eyes and said, 'Yes, of course!' This is a manifestation of Curry's selflessness because it's his team, it's his thing. But many people would quietly say no, so it wouldn't happen.

"I think the reason is, for me, I can imagine if Durant says, 'I'm scheduling meetings, and you guys are the team we want to meet' five days later. Then I went without talking to Curry, that would be absurd, that would be stupid. These kinds of conversations make sense, but people may not understand." Meyers said.

Because this is his team, this is his affair.

Didn't they say before that Durant begged the entire Warriors team? This rumor has now been debunked.

Even if Jordan wanted to go to the Warriors, he would have to get Curry's approval.

I feel that what Curry did indeed qualifies as a sacrifice. He sacrificed some ball control and statistics, achieving a synergy where 1+1 is greater than 2.
