Lucky Goddess Blackjack shares the same rules and gameplay as regular Blackjack, with the addition of a side bet. Players can choose to play the side bet or not.

A side bet is a small wager separate from the main bet in many casino games, such as Match the Dealer in Spanish 21 or the Goddess of Luck in Pai Gow Poker. Generally, side bets are considered traps, as the chances of winning a side bet are usually lower than winning the main bet. Players often engage in side bets due to the higher odds, offering a thrilling experience with the potential for significant returns, especially with a Double Down (DB).

The side bet in Lucky Goddess Blackjack allows players to bet on their initial two cards forming a total of 20 points, specifically, two 10-point cards (e.g., 10, 10; 10, J; J, Q; K, J) or an Ace and a 9.

According to the rules, if the two 20-point cards are a pair and suited (e.g., two spade 10s, two heart Kings, etc.), the dealer pays 19:1. If the two cards are suited but not paired (e.g., a diamond 10 and a diamond Queen, or a club Ace and a club 9), the dealer pays 9:1. If the two cards are neither suited nor paired (e.g., a spade King and a diamond Jack, or a heart 10 and a club Queen), the dealer pays 4:1. To attract players to place the side bet, a special jackpot is offered: if the initial two cards are a pair of Queen of Hearts (known as the Lucky Goddess), the dealer pays 125 times the side bet. Additionally, if the dealer gets a Blackjack at the same time, the side bet pays 1000:1, though the probability of this occurrence is known only to the casino.

Understanding the rules of the Lucky Goddess Blackjack side bet, many savvy players immediately think about the potential advantage of card counting. In practice, many players either always place the side bet or never do. In the long run, the former group misses out on winning opportunities, while the latter increases the chances of losing. The correct strategy is to keep track of the number of dealt 10-point cards during the game. When the count is significantly lower than the number of non-10-point cards, start placing the side bet, as the likelihood of getting two 20-point cards increases significantly. Interested friends may want to try their luck at the casino.
