Football hooligans are everywhere, but it's utterly excessive when they resort to attacking the opposing team's bus, leading to surgical procedures for their victims. Yesterday, before the Lyon vs. Marseille match, Lyon, the visiting team, was attacked by local Marseille extremists. The Lyon head coach was severely injured, and the match was ultimately postponed.

This attack occurred before the 10th round of Ligue 1, where Marseille was hosting Lyon. Lyon, as the away team, was on their bus en route to the stadium. While Lyon and Marseille don't have the best relationship, nobody expected the situation to escalate to such a violent extent. According to the French newspaper "L'Équipe," extremist Marseille fans attacked at least three buses, including the one carrying Lyon players and the head coach.

Unfortunately, Lyon's head coach, Grösso, was struck by a beer can, resulting in a 3cm cut above his left eye, rendering him unable to see. Despite Grösso's determination to continue the match, not wanting the 60,000 spectators to leave empty-handed, the referee deemed the situation unfit for the game to proceed. As a result, the match was canceled, and a rescheduled date will be arranged.

After the incident, Marseille's official statement condemned the extremist fans, stating that they should not bring violence into football and that their actions harmed 60,000 people. Marseille pledged full cooperation with the police and Ligue 1 organizers to promptly reschedule the match, and they expressed their hope and best wishes for a swift recovery for the victims, led by Grösso. Prior to this attack, Marseille had a history of football hooliganism, so they might face severe consequences in the aftermath.

Do you think such behavior from Marseille's extremist fans can be tolerated?

Now that we've labeled them as "hooligans," it's evident that their behavior knows no boundaries! Taking strict action against them is the meaningful course of action!

It's really tragic; this season, Lyon's ranking has plummeted to the bottom of Ligue 1, and now even the head coach got attacked. It's a situation no one could have anticipated. In reality, Lyon has a decent squad, but it's unclear what's been happening within the team. Their performance is declining sharply, and if they don't make some changes, they might end up relegated to Ligue 2 this season.

Football hooligans are truly frightening. They must be strongly resisted. The fact that they engage in physical attacks is extremely dangerous, and strict penalties are necessary.

Such incidents are indeed quite common abroad, especially in Europe, but this kind of situation is really unacceptable. Football is a sport, and aiming to harm people takes away the meaning of it.

We really can't let such people off the hook. Punishing them is the best way to provide the other side with a proper explanation.
