Luck is a mysterious thing, elusive, and unpredictable. Most importantly, it's something that you can't really chase after. The more you desire good luck, the less likely it seems to arrive. Bad luck may persist, and it can give you a strange feeling. Perhaps it's this mystique that instills awe in people and fuels their envy for those who seem to have good luck.
Making a profit in gambling undoubtedly relies on good luck. Everyone hopes for a stroke of luck, but the harsh reality is that not everyone can be blessed by fortune simultaneously. What's even more frustrating is when luck disproportionately favors a particular individual. Seeing someone else win, many feel envy, and even jealousy, but harboring hatred is a distortion. While I don't entirely endorse downplaying the concept of winning or losing in gambling, perhaps downplaying the aspect of hitting the jackpot is correct. During this process, we can learn to accept the unpredictability of luck, cherish other fortunate aspects of life, and perhaps, it's only in this way that we can confront the capricious nature of luck with more composure. |
