On July 23rd, according to Woj, the NBA Board of Governors has officially approved Michael Jordan's application to sell the Charlotte Hornets.

As previously reported, Jordan sold the Hornets to a group led by Gabby Plotkin and Rick Schnall, ending his 13-year ownership journey.

In 2010, Jordan became the largest shareholder and owner of the Hornets with a $275 million investment. In October 2022, Forbes valued the Hornets at $1.7 billion. Jordan ultimately sold the team for $3 billion. It's reported that he will retain a minority stake and continue as a minority owner of the Hornets.

Jordan made around $2.7 billion over the course of 13 years, amassing a substantial fortune.

Certainly, he has definitely made money, but it's not just about looking at the numbers. In the past twenty years, inflation has been quite significant.
