Everyone has dreams when they're young. Most kids dream of becoming heroes, and girls dream of being princesses or queens. But as we grow up, those childhood dreams often fade away amidst the daily grind, the hustle and bustle of work, and the arguments over household chores.
Growing up, we begin to understand the importance of money, and our dreams of being heroes or princesses start to shift towards one common goal - having a lot of money and achieving financial freedom.
However, robbing a bank is impossible, and committing crimes is not an option. So, we turn our attention to gambling, which seems like a shortcut to financial freedom. Maybe it's a dead-end, but there's still a chance. We deposit money, win some, lose some, all while sinking into the fantasy of financial freedom.
When we gamble, we always imagine that this time we'll win, and this time might be the beginning of our path to financial freedom. We dream of leaving our harsh bosses and office politics behind, and when we've won enough, we plan to quit our jobs.
So, we keep depositing money, losing it, and still enjoy the process because gambling gives us hope. It makes us feel alive and hopeful, rather than being a soulless employee just for a meager paycheck.
Gambling sells us dreams and offers hope, giving every gambler a vision. Among us, some have strong self-discipline and real skills, and they do achieve their dreams by earning money and investing it wisely, ultimately attaining financial freedom.
But for many others, it's more about repeatedly depositing money, winning a little, and then going down the irreversible path of losing it all.
We are all gamblers; we are all dreamers. I wish every dreamer can realize their dreams in the end. |
