Global sports betting, gaming, and interactive entertainment group, Entain, announced a new initiative during its second annual sustainability and ESG showcase event aimed at enhancing the career prospects of more women in the tech field. The new diversity drive initiative will witness Entain partnering with the McLaren Formula 1 team, with a focus on providing more opportunities for women to enter and succeed in tech-related fields. The gaming group and racing team will collaborate to promote greater diversity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Rebecca Constable, Chief People Officer of the McLaren Racing Team, explained at the event hosted by Entain that the diversity drive is intended for those who aspire to succeed but are overlooked by companies because they ""don't know how to get in,"" providing them with excellent opportunities to achieve their goals. The initiative will focus on women who are willing to re-skill or upskill and enter the tech industry for the first time, women looking to re-enter the tech field after a career break, and female students currently studying STEM subjects at universities or in continuing education.

The ""diversity drive"" program will kick off with an inspiring event at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK, and over the course of a year, it will pilot a series of new initiatives and projects. The first batch will offer ten six-month internships, allowing candidates to experience the significance of working at the technology center. Entain and McLaren initially teamed up in May of last year when the gaming group's Party Casino and PartyPoker brands were featured on the team's F1 car. Their collaboration expanded into several other promotional activities, including a unique content launch by Entain for McLaren.

This latest diversity initiative from Entain builds on the group's broader carenty program, which aims to provide tech education and training while increasing diversity in the industry. Entain has committed to positively impacting the lives of over one million people globally by 2030, directly or indirectly through its employees and dependents. This new initiative was announced at Entain's second annual sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) event, where the global gaming brand praised its new Advanced Responsibility and Care (ARC) program as the most effective problem gambling monitoring system, proven to help many Entain customers control their gambling behaviors.

McLaren is actually an English high-performance car manufacturing company, not a tire manufacturer. It seems there might be some confusion, as McLaren is not involved in gambling or sports betting.
