"Over the years, the number 10 position has evolved: we don't see as many traditional playmakers anymore. Now we see more dynamic number 10s on the field: they are creative everywhere on the pitch. But at the same time, a number 10 also needs defensive and tactical awareness.
When I played for Milan, it was actually more like having two number 9s. I played as a number 10, but I partnered with Inzaghi, Shevchenko, or Shevchenko + Crespo.
But England has Kane (but only one forward), whereas at clubs, Bellingham and Foden don't have two forwards ahead of them, so the situation for the number 10 position is completely different." |
