Although it's widely speculated that football superstar Mbappé will leave Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid after the season, he never officially announced his departure until now. On May 11th, Mbappé took to social media to confirm his exit from PSG at the end of the season, with the upcoming weekend's match marking his farewell at Parc des Princes. Following his announcement, renowned transfer insider Romano hinted at Mbappé's imminent move to Real Madrid, revealing that his salary would be similar to Benzema and Vinicius. Mbappé has already found a house in Madrid.

After Mbappé's announcement, Paris mayor Hidalgo extended her blessings, and Ligue 1 officials bid farewell on social media, saying, "Thank you, Kylian Mbappé." This underscores Mbappé's high stature in France. In his video message, Mbappé expressed gratitude to PSG for nurturing him over the years and thanked the fans for their support. The last home game of the weekend will be a special one for him.

In the upcoming season, Mbappé will join Real Madrid, forming a star-studded attacking lineup alongside Benzema, Vinicius, Rodrygo, and others, making it the most luxurious lineup in Europe. While Mbappé is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world in terms of skill, in terms of club honors, he still lags behind the aforementioned young stars at Real Madrid. Therefore, Mbappé will face significant new challenges next season.

Mbappé is undoubtedly the current world number one. With two appearances in the World Cup final, he clinched the trophy in 2018 and scored a hat-trick in the 2022 final, although one championship was stolen, settling for runner-up. In Ligue 1, besides the title with Monaco, he secured six league titles, three French Cups, three French Super Cups, and two French League Cup titles during his time in Paris. Given such achievements, what more can the Mayor of Paris and its citizens offer besides their abundant love?

Currently, in French football history, Zinedine Zidane holds the highest accolades. He helped France win the World Cup in 1998 and the European Championship in 2000. In 2006, had it not been for Materazzi, they might have won the World Cup again, settling for runner-up. Zidane missed the 2002 tournament due to injury, causing France's early exit in the group stage. Considering Mbappé's current achievements, he still has at least two World Cups and two European Championships to participate in. If he can win two more major international titles, he will undoubtedly secure the position of France's greatest. Currently without a Champions League title, it's only a matter of time. After joining Real Madrid next season, he will have all the honors, including the Ballon d'Or. Hopefully, Mbappé will have fewer injuries and continue to dazzle fans with brilliant performances in the future!

After Messi and Neymar left Ligue 1, Mbappé became the only superstar left, representing both the league and the French national team. If he had stayed at PSG, he would have been hailed as a hero of the city. Under normal circumstances, Mbappé should have joined Real Madrid in 2022, but due to his family's financial interests and the French president's persuasion, the move was delayed for two years. Mbappé's presence over the past two years has brought considerable attention to Ligue 1 and PSG, so his departure is justified. The real disgrace is PSG, losing a key player like Mbappé without any farewell ceremony shows their lack of gratitude. His last home game against Toulouse this weekend will likely be his final match for PSG. There's also the French Cup final at the end of May, which could mark his last appearance for the club. However, PSG is reportedly seeking compensation from Mbappé, which seems unjust considering he's leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires. It's ironic that PSG rejected a €180 million offer from Real Madrid earlier, and now they're demanding compensation when Mbappé is leaving for free. Joining Real Madrid won't be easy for Mbappé either. If Real Madrid wins the Champions League final against Dortmund this year, Mbappé will be joining a champion team as a "loser," which could be awkward. It remains to be seen how Mbappé will feel joining a team fresh off a championship victory.
