In the recent match, Monaco's loss to Lyon confirmed Paris Saint-Germain's defense of the Ligue 1 title, marking the third league champion confirmed this season among the top five leagues. Only La Liga and the Premier League remain undecided. Especially in the Premier League, with the schedule heating up, the title race could go down to the wire!
Looking at the situation across the top five leagues, we have Bayer Leverkusen as Bundesliga champions, Inter Milan as Serie A champions, and Paris Saint-Germain as Ligue 1 champions. The focus now shifts to whether Bayer Leverkusen can achieve an undefeated season, a feat last accomplished in the top five leagues by Juventus in the 2011/2012 season. If Bayer Leverkusen manages to secure an unbeaten title, it would be a historic achievement!
In the leagues yet to confirm champions, Real Madrid leads La Liga by 13 points over second-placed Girona. Even if Barcelona, in third place and one game behind, wins their postponed match, Real Madrid still holds an 11-point lead. With only five rounds left in La Liga, Real Madrid is highly likely to clinch the title, with their focus expected to shift gradually to the Champions League after securing the La Liga title.
Finally, the Premier League title race is the most intense. Currently, three teams are vying for the title, with Liverpool slightly trailing. Despite having played the same number of matches, Liverpool is 5 points behind league leaders Arsenal. While their title hopes remain, they are the most distant among the three contenders. Manchester City, currently second in the table and one game behind, trails Arsenal by just 1 point. With a full slate of matches ahead, Manchester City holds the initiative in the title race. However, Arsenal won't sit back and watch Manchester City easily claim the title. The battle for the Premier League crown is likely to go down to the wire. |
