March 30th News: Today, former Boston Celtics champion guard and Miami Heat champion guard Ray Allen appeared on JJ Redick's podcast, where he talked about his time training with the Heat.
Ray Allen: "Back when I was training in Boston, everyone was doing their own thing, like shooting drills. But it was different when I joined the Heat. LeBron James at that time wanted to challenge everyone. He would initiate some internal competitions or challenges with us, and I really miss those days. After training internally for 2-3 hours, our team's star player would still come up to me and say, 'What should we compete in today? Let's spice things up a bit.'"
"Then we would start with some shooting drills around the cones, followed by free throw competitions. For example, LeBron might beat me a couple of times in a year, and after the training session, when the media was around, he would go and boast, 'I got Ray Allen today!'"
Ray Allen joined the Heat in the 2012-2013 season, where he averaged 10.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, with a three-point shooting percentage of 41.9%. |
