Analysis of Sic Bo Odds and Strategies

Atu was skeptical about winning money on electronic Sic Bo machines, but since he had heard convincing accounts from insiders, he decided to give it a try. Approaching the electronic Sic Bo table with a curious demeanor, he surveyed the surroundings, observing each position briefly while covertly gathering intelligence on the players' strategies.

After completing his reconnaissance, Atu found a satisfactory spot among the remaining positions and prepared to embark on his magical journey. He signaled for Atu to watch closely and whispered, "Many high rollers are here solely for earning points. I've noticed they adopt similar betting patterns, which suits my strategy."

The strategy Atu had learned involved placing bets on a combination of 15 single-dice outcomes and 6 double-dice outcomes, totaling 21 combinations. The single-dice combinations included "12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 23, 24, 25, 26, 34, 35, 36, 45, 46, and 56," while the double-dice combinations were "11, 22, 33, 44, 55, and 66," with respective odds of 1 to 6 and 1 to 12.

Sic Bo Odds Analysis

The odds reflect the opportunities available. In theory, there are twice as many chances for single-dice outcomes as for double-dice outcomes. By simultaneously betting on 21 combinations, if three different numbers are rolled, the player wins on 3 single-dice combinations, breaking even with the initial bet, resulting in no loss and earning points.

If double-dice combinations are rolled, the player reclaims one single-dice combination and one double-dice combination, breaking even plus a profit, resulting in a slight loss of 1 bet, effectively acting as a house edge.

The worst-case scenario occurs when triple-dice combinations are rolled, resulting in only one double-dice combination being won back, resulting in a loss of 8 bets.

Sic Bo Betting Strategies

Some players opt for additional bets on the "All Triples" option to offset the 31-to-1 odds, but this comes at a cost. Without a triple-dice outcome, an additional bet is required for each roll, resulting in a loss of 1 bet to earn points.

Whether intentional or not, when these point-seeking players gather, the Sic Bo table tends to produce frequent double-dice outcomes.

Recognizing this pattern, the magician places bets on 6 double-dice combinations, totaling 6 bets. If three single dice are rolled, he loses 6 bets; if double dice or triple dice are rolled, he breaks even or wins, resulting in a profit and earning points. Compared to the high rollers, his strategy has a higher success rate. He shares with Atu that he has previously won significant amounts by consistently betting on double-dice outcomes.

With bets ranging from a minimum of $5 to a maximum of $250 per bet, placing 21 bets every minute can be costly. In this test, the magician won 15 double-dice outcomes and lost 11 single-dice outcomes, ultimately defeating the electronic Sic Bo machine. Notably, after the high rollers left, the table produced 11 consecutive single-dice outcomes, but the magician had already withdrawn his winnings by then.
