March 8th News: Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins appeared on the First Take show today, during which he discussed the Lakers' ranking situation in the Western Conference.
"In the West, the Lakers certainly pose no threat to other teams, they have no threat at all, and it's time for us to stop fantasizing. The teams ahead of them in the playoffs won't even consider the Lakers. And the teams in the play-in tournament have nothing to worry about from them either. The Lakers can't find stability, they can't maintain the same level in consecutive games," Perkins said.
"Let's look at the Western Conference teams, the Clippers, Nuggets, and Kings, even the Warriors, are now stronger than the Lakers. If the Warriors face the Lakers in the play-in tournament, I would choose Stephen Curry and Jonathan Kuminga's Warriors. So for now, we need to let go of the fantasy about the Lakers. I think they will make it to the play-in tournament, and they might make it to the playoffs, but they will also be eliminated in the first round. Then they need to focus on the summer free agency market to see if they can bring in other players, such as Trae Young and so on," Perkins said. |
